Dr. Connie McMillan was raised in the New Orleans, Louisiana area and attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. As a young girl, she always wanted to be a veterinarian, but her life took a different course initially.

After years in the printing industry, she decided it was time to pursue her dream and returned to school. Veterinary Medicine is her second career, and she is thrilled to finally be living her dream of working with animals. Dr. McMillan graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She attended the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches, Louisiana, for her junior and senior high school years and stayed to complete her undergraduate degrees at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Veterinary prerequisites were completed at the University of New Orleans. After graduation, Dr. McMillian completed a Medical and Surgical Internship at Southeast Veterinary Specialists to further her veterinary skills.

Dr. McMillan has a special passion for veterinary medicine and has remained local to the New Orleans area to serve her patients. Throughout the last 15 years, she has served as a leader in the veterinary community while being a pillar for her patients and clients. Dr. McMillian is a local resident of the Harahan community and has a passion for serving our community pets while educating clients on gold-standard medicine. She currently lives with her small farm of rescues – Her dogs Clementine and Elodie, cat Clover, Sulcata tortoise Stella “the fella,” and newest additions, Marshmallow and Jellybean fabulous Guinea pigs.
