Dr. Mistarz was born in the Chicago suburbs but moved with her family to Gainesville, Georgia, at a young age.
She attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!), where she received a Biological Sciences degree prior to attending the University of Georgia to pursue her degree in veterinary medicine. Upon her graduation in 2019, Dr. Mistarz moved to the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, where her husband, Austin, was attending medical school. There, she worked both in emergency medicine and general practice prior to moving to New Orleans in 2022 for the start of Austin's residency at LSU. Her veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and preventative medicine.
When out of the office, Dr. Mistarz spends much of her time spoiling her loveable Golden mix, Ellie, and unruly Weimaraner, Leila. She also enjoys traveling, watching Clemson Football, and supporting craft breweries.
